Quality service and maintenance are essential. Even the best instrument can sound terrible if it is not properly set up (regulated, tuned and voiced). For this reason, we recommend trying out pianos only in respected dealerships, where there are qualified technicians who prepare and get the best out of the instruments. In such dealerships, you can also ask for personalised advice about which model is the right size for your room and also which model suits your taste and musical style.
The crucial points are the humidity of the surrounding air, regular tuning and proper regulation of the instrument.
We recommend using a humidifier in regions that require heating.
A humidifier maintains at the humidity of the room at an optimum level, preventing damage such as splits in the soundboard and shrinking of the action parts. This can also stabilise the tuning, meaning less servicing and tuning is required, and saving you money over the long term.
Avoid placing the instrument close to any central heating, fireplace, in direct sunlight, next to damp/cold outer walls, windows (because of the draught). Be careful with any fluids such as cold or hot drinks etc., and sharp objects such as pens or pencils, paper-clips etc. When cleaning the surface of your instrument, take care not to use any abrasive cloths. For cleaning the keys use only a slightly damp soft cloth (under no circumstances should ethyl alcohol or solvents be used). Should the instrument be delivered during a cold weather spell, we suggest placing it in a well-aired room and increasing the room temperature gradually.
For private use, a piano should be tuned once or twice a year.
All pianos drop in pitch slowly over time. Since different lengths of strings stretch in different ways and at different speeds, the piano will gradually begin to sound out of tune. This is something all musically inclined people recognize, not only those with perfect pitch.
In music conservatories and academies, instruments need to be tuned every month. Recording studios and concert halls have their instruments tuned before every major event.

Yes, the Silencer System can be built into almost any grand within a few hours, regardless of model or producer. The relatively short installation time makes it possible to keep the price affordable.
We are very proud that we have chosen the best production facilities for our instruments, and our partner, Hailun Piano, is one of the most modern production plants, not only in China, but in the world.
Their production plant in Ningbo is steadily growing, but this is anything but “cheap” mass production. Due to the fact that only the most state-of-the-art machines are in use there, we are able to produce precision parts of outstanding quality. The production processes and the final quality control are constantly supervised by FEURICH technicians, in order to guarantee the high European standards we demand.
These optimal production conditions in Ningbo enable us to offer our products at a very high quality, and at great value for money.
In a word – no.
It is of great importance to us that the workers who are involved in the Ningbo piano production are highly qualified, and benefit from regular training from master piano builders from Europe and all over the world.
The production facility in Ningbo recognizes the importance of expert workers and pays far greater wages than is expected there. Ningbo Hailun also offers workers from remote regions housing options, eating facilites and medical supervision. The expertise of the workers, as well as their job satisfaction, is essential to FEURICH.
The outstanding value of our products stems primarily from highly automatized processes which depend largely on the quality of the CNC machines. A large part of the piano is produced by machines, which makes for the consistent quality of our production.
The subsequent fine regulating and voicing is undertaken by our experts in the FEURICH logistics centres around the world. We are convinced that this is the only way to ensure the high standard of quality in pianos within this price bracket.
No materials were ever, or will ever be, used that have consequences for our clients’ health.
Our products are in keeping with all the European regulations. There are no toxic veneers, glues or other substances involved in the production process.
It is one of the basic principles of FEURICH to use only traditional, robust but also innovative materials.
We would much rather set a higher production price than cut costs on the quality of our raw materials.
Without our high-quality materials, there would be no guarantee for the longevity, the tone, the fine touch of the action or the long-lasting tuning stability etc of our pianos.
We would advise against internet purchases, especially of acoustic pianos, since the risk of disappointment is far too great.
Choosing a piano is a very personal matter, and the decision should be made on the basis of many factors, from the tone and the touch all the way to the casing, and after-sales care.
There are no two acoustic pianos, even of the same make and producer, which sound identical. This is why a piano needs to be tried before buying. Only then will you find the right instrument for you, and one which will provide a lifetime of enjoyment.
